DEPRESSION, part 1: with BJ and Kylie Sipe
Show Notes

BJ Sipe, a frequent contributor to the podcast, joins us this week along with his wife, Kylie, to discuss their experience with depression. I think you will find their willingness to be open and honest about their struggles, failures and successes to be a tremendous blessing. If you know someone who is struggling, do them a favor and share this episode with them. In the first part of our conversation, we will discuss what depression actually is, and whether a simple study of Philippians and related Bible texts will cure it.

"You’re listening to a sermon based in the book of Philippians. The preacher (not this preacher, I hasten to emphasize) sums up his view thusly: “The cure for depression is Jesus. Jesus will make you content. Jesus will give you joy. Jesus is bigger than whatever you are currently facing.  If you are wrestling with depression, your problem is not circumstances. It is not brain chemistry. It is, at its core, a lack of faith.” BJ and Kylie, how would you react?"
